San Diego Music Lessons

Meet a couple of our instructors in the San Diego area!

Everett L

In the San Diego area, pianist Everett has appeared as a soloist and accompanist with the Cooper Music Center at Point Loma Nazarene University, competing and volunteering at the Jane Bastian Sonata Competition at San Diego State University and gigging at various restaurants. He has performed classical piano works, classical and secular choral works and jazz and pop improvisations. As a pianist, has served as an accompanist with the Point Loma Singers touring Scotland, England, The Pacific Northwest, the greater Southern California area and San Francisco.

A native of Portland Oregon has a Bachelors of Arts in Music with an emphasis in piano at Point Loma Nazarene University in the Cooper Music Center studying under Dr. Kenyon, Dr. Labenske, Dr. Phee and occasional instruction from Professor Martin. In the summer of 2011 he attended a piano camp at Washington State University receiving private and ensemble instruction from Dr. Karen and Will Savage. In his earlier years Everett studied under Jeanie Baldwin and Susan DeWitt Smith competing in the MTNA Competition, participating in the OMTA Syllabus Exams and various Romantic and Classical Festivals. Attending many master classes and giving over four solo recitals Everett has continued to learn and exercise his knowledge in classical and secular repertoire. As well as performing classical repertoire Everett plays jazz weekly at Salvatores Cucina Italiana, downtown San Diego, and in the past has played for Vigilucci’s in their jazz bar. Using both his skills as a classical and jazz pianist Everett James Lewis continues to gain diverse experience in different musical environments.

Angel S

Angel has been working with kids ages 3 and up since 2006 and has managed to perform from high school recitals to sharing the stage with local and touring acts throughout Southern California including SOMA San Diego (legendary punk venue), The Epicentre (Mira Mesa), and in the Queen Mary ship (Long Beach). Being classically trained, Angel is able to teach techniques that would later help in the long run. His way of teaching is in a step-by-step section-by-section process that would allow the student to learn small portions at a time to not make it look so overwhelming.
